Nature or Nurture?
Good to see you here once again, O prober of my mind and day.
Are you well? Glad to hear it.
No? Seen better days?
Maybe this will cheer you up then...
Dad enters room and after general greetings are announced, the following conversation takes place:
Dad: Did you have a productive day?
Me: Yes. Work. All day.
Dad: ALL DAY? You? Never!
Me: I did! Yes! I work hard you know...!
Dad: Well. When you work, that is...
Me: The question is, do you enjoy your line of work?
Dad: That's a question for anyone really, isn't it? If you enjoy what you're doing, you're more productive. If you don't then you can't be more than mediocre and thats a bad thing. There's too much mediocrity in the world.
Me: Ahh, that's very anthropological of you!
Dad, laughing: Oh dear! Is it?
Me: Yes. That's the nurture side of the debate...
Dad: It's pretty sad that you know that, actually.
Me, thinking: Well, it is my degree! It's what I've been doing all day...
Later that evening...
Dad: So, will you do it?
Me: Maybe. Tomorrow. If I have time. Perhaps I'll get something together...
Dad: That's very noncommittal of you. Is that nature or nurture?
Me: It's nurture. I'm an innocent victim of the society around me; I'm completely blameless.
And with that, I must get back to the nature/nurture debate!

Deejius says (23:28):
and as i was slaving away at my computer in uni, my sister sends me a text: "come to [a restaurant i know and love]" so off i trot, (was starving)
Deejius says (23:28):
and it's the elvis night!
Deejius says (23:28):
as i walk in, elvis is singing away
Deejius says (23:29):
and he comes up to me and is like "we're going to get you into an elvis suit, c'mon"
Deejius says (23:29):
and i get up and wave around the room (to cheers, yayy!!) whilst he marches with me, hand in hand, to the back of [a restaurant i know and love]
Hannah says (23:29):
so daniel, can i just say - ur hilarious - that is the most random thing ever!!! keep going...
Deejius says (23:29):

Deejius says (23:29):
completely random, but there we go
Hannah says (23:29):
(btw i share a b day with elvis..)
Deejius says (23:30):
so there i am, at the back of [a restaurant i know and love], the manager bloke takes me down some stairs and into the store room and is like "there's no elvis suit. you can wear a waitress top instead"
Deejius says (23:30):
nuts, eh?
Hannah says (23:30):
omg - so u sed no?
Deejius says (23:30):
well, he throws me a top and says "come up when youre ready"
Deejius says (23:31):
and so, there i am, alone in the storage room of [a restaurant i know and love] with a waitress top about 10 sizes too small for me in my hand
Deejius says (23:32):
suffice to say, i did NOT re enter the restaurant with it
Hannah says (23:32):

Deejius says (23:32):

Deejius says (23:32):

Deejius says (23:32):
and gave it back to him
Deejius says (23:32):
then calmly went back to my seat
Deejius says (23:32):
and the elvis guy is like "what happened to the suit?!"
Deejius says (23:33):
on microphone
Deejius says (23:33):
and i'm like "yeah, uhh, whatever" and the story starts to get normal at this point, so i'll stop
Deejius says (23:33):
but that was pretty random
Hannah says (23:34):
hahah - so u've also not done the essay. like me?:
Hannah says (23:34):

Hannah says (23:34):

Deejius says (23:34):

Deejius says (23:35):
yeah, haha, you would have laughed non stop for weeks
Hannah says (23:35):
i doubt it!! but yes...everything would have been changed...i like to think, for the better but alas, we shall never know
Hannah says (23:35):
